› Revamped Carnival Glory headed to Port Canaveral
Carnival Cruise Line has revamped its Carnival Glory cruise ship with new features before it heads to its new home at Port Canaveral. The 110,000-gross-ton ship is taking on three- and four-night Bahamas sailings from the port, joining three other Carnival ships. Built in 2003, the ship has a 2,980-guest passenger capacity based on double occupancy. It recently came out of a 21-day dry dock at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, receiving some enhancements found on other Carnival ships.

The Miami Seaquarium filed suit against Miami-Dade County to block an eviction from its waterfront home since the 1950s, and the litigation offers new insight into the financial challenges the park faces — including fallout from the loss of its former star attraction, Lolita the killer whale. Facing a Sunday deadline to surrender the waterfront location it leases from Miami-Dade County, the Seaquarium asked a federal judge on Friday to block the eviction action launched six weeks.

If ever there was a company in need of a psychological lift, it is Spirit Airlines, twice a target of failed takeover bids by rival air carriers, and now flying with a fleet diminished by problems not of its own making. The South Florida-based discount carrier, now in its 25th year as the region’s “hometown airline,” seized the day on Thursday by unveiling its new 11-acre, four-building corporate campus.
› Tampa Riverwalk named one of the best in America
The Tampa Riverwalk has been named one of the best riverwalks in the nation. USA Today's 10 Best Reader's Choice Travel Awards placed the Tampa Riverwalk as the fourth best in the nation after weeks of voting. "Securing the title of America's Best Riverwalk would spotlight Tampa's vibrant community and our iconic Riverwalk's contribution to the city and region on a national scale," representatives with Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk said.
