› Minnesota startup moving HQ to Florida
Bright Health Group is officially bidding farewell to Minnesota and shedding its name. On Wednesday, the company announced that it’s moving its corporate headquarters from Minnesota to Doral, Florida. The company also said it will change its name from Bright Health to NeueHealth.
› 77 indicted, millions seized for Southwest Florida COVID scams
A COVID-19 fraud task force run in part by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa indicted more than 21 people last year for attempting to illegally collect more than $15 million in federal relief funds. Those indictments bring to 77 the total number of fraud cases totaling $85 million.
› 'Pit Boss' passes the torch: Jacksonville restaurateur retires after building BBQ empire
Joe Adeeb III, who's best known for taking Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q from two restaurants in Jacksonville to locations from Florida to the Rocky Mountains, is passing the torch after more than 50 years in the hospitality industry. Adeeb, whose business card bore the title, "The Pit Boss," officially retired on Jan. 1.
› Car wash chain opens new corporate headquarters in Doral
A car wash chain with dozens of locations in South Florida opened a combination headquarters and car wash operation in Doral. The building will be El Car Wash's largest car facility in South Florida, the company stated, and include the company's corporate office. El Car Wash was previously based in Wynwood.
