› Billions of flowers flowing through Miami brighten nation
Miami annual handles 8 billion or more stems of flowers destined for the rest of the US as Miami International Airport has become the floral center of the nation in a sophisticated trade that supports 30 trucking companies with an industry economic impact too broad to be totaled. From humble beginnings a half century ago, Miami’s vital role in this trade has ballooned, with only a short blip during covid slowing its meteoric rise.

› Judge lowers award against All Children’s but dismisses call for new trial
A Sarasota County judge has lowered the damages awarded by a jury against Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital by $47.5 million but dismissed the hospital’s calls for a new trial. In an order released Tuesday, Judge Hunter Carroll agreed with the hospital’s motion that some of the jury’s awards to Maya Kowalski and her family were “excessive.”

› Tampa company invests over $1M in Bitcoin mining machines
LM Funding America, a publicly traded cryptocurrency mining and technology-based finance company, says it will purchase 300 Bitmain S21 computing machines for approximately $1.1 million. LM Funding America commenced Bitcoin mining operations in September 2022.

› Altamonte Springs business offering police training courses to public
