A new bill is seeking to prevent Florida drivers from cruising in the left lane. The bill, SB 258, was filed by Sen. Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration has gone to the U.S. Supreme Court in a fight about a ruling in favor of Hamburger Mary’s in downtown Orlando that blocked statewide a new law aimed at preventing children from attending drag shows. The state’s attorneys want the Supreme Court to block an injunction by U.S. District Judge Gregory Presnell that keeps the law from taking effect.

Ron DeSantis signed into law one of the nation’s largest school choice programs in March, he said the move would enable “every single student in the state of Florida” to get a taxpayer-funded education voucher or savings account. But data from Miami-Dade County Public Schools show that while the number of students who obtained a voucher did increase this school year, the majority of students who obtained a voucher were already enrolled in private schools.
