› Giant snails take over Florida’s Gulf Coast again
The state has found more than 1,400 of the massive snails since June. The invasive giant African land snail—one of the most damaging snails in the world—has returned to Florida for the third time in the state’s history, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

› Company plans 6,000+ electric vehicle chargers in Florida
A New Zealand-based company announced Thursday it plans to install more than 6,000 electric vehicle chargers in Florida over the coming months, mainly at commercial sites, parking lots and other developments.

› Florida needs 9,000 more teachers just weeks ahead of the start of school
Education leaders worry about attracting and retaining teachers. School districts statewide are working to fill 9,000 teacher vacancies with just weeks until the start of the school year, according to numbers from the Florida Education Association (FEA).
