› HabiJax rental development bringing tiny house community look to Jacksonville
It probably won’t end up in any textbooks, but HabiJax’s new Westside building project is giving Jacksonville its first idea of what a tiny house subdivision could look like. The 50-home development on just 5.7 acres near Lane Avenue is the city’s first example of houses mostly measuring less than 500 square feet being built as a community, not oddball novelties.

While a few new condos and rentals have gone up along the thoroughfare over the past decade, Coral Way remains more utilitarian than glamorous, serving as a dependable, walkable spine that connects the single-family neighborhoods of The Roads, Shenandoah, Silver Bluff and Coral Gate.

› Tony and Olga Barr complete $1M donation to Cade Museum
Gainesville native and inventor Anthony James (Tony) Barr and his wife, Olga, completed a $1 million donation to the Cade Museum for Creativity and Innovation for youth programming. In their honor the museum has named a second-story 2,600-square-foot gallery space the Tony & Olga Barr Gallery.

› Florida Times-Union property under contract; $250 million project planned
Atlanta-based developer Jeff Fuqua, with experience building grocery-anchored centers in Brooklyn and Riverside, has a contract to buy the former Florida Times-Union property to create a $250 million retail, office, restaurant and apartment project. “All of those things have a lot of runway in the Riverside area,” Fuqua said May 20.
