› Florida Senate approves bill to arm teachers
The Florida Senate approved a school safety bill Tuesday that would allow teachers to voluntarily carry guns on campus if local school boards agree. Senators voted 22-17 mostly along party lines. The House is set to take up the measure next.
› Santa Rosa County faces ‘severe’ housing shortage
Charles Edsel and his firm, MarketGraphics Research Group, correctly called when the housing shortage would trigger a nationwide recession and the date the economy would recover six years later. The well-known housing expert, especially in home building circles, stood before the five-member Santa Rosa County commission and told them they must develop 10,676 new homes by the end of 2024 to meet the demand of its population growth.

Sarasota-based Omeza, LLC closed on its most recent funding round March 28, exceeding its $5 million goal by $750,000 and attracting a line-up of prominent board members in the process. A startup medtech and consumer healthcare company, Omeza invited a select group of individuals to invest in its breakthrough technology, which is initially aimed at healing and preventing chronic leg and foot ulcers.
