Florida's largest newspaper purchases main competitor

Florida's largest newspaper, the Tampa Bay Times, said Tuesday it has purchased its main competitor, the Tampa Tribune, ending a decades-long newspaper rivalry. Times chairman and CEO Paul Tash said he intends to create one financially secure, locally owned daily newspaper in the Tampa Bay region. More from the Tampa Bay Times, AP and Poynter.

It's Donald Trump's GOP after Ted Cruz drops out

Election 2016

In a result that once seemed unthinkable to many Republicans, Donald Trump became the likely GOP nominee on Tuesday as top rival Senator Ted Cruz withdrew from the race.
