Paychecks have not recovered from the recession

Florida has created jobs faster than most states since the recession, but income has not recovered, according to the latest economic report from Congress' Joint Economic Committee. Private-sector jobs in Florida have increased 5.3 percent since December 2007, placing Florida 14th among all states and ahead of the national rate of 4.9 percent. But median income is down 12 percent to $46,100 since 2007, the sixth-biggest drop in the country. The Might of Mickey: Orlando still top U.S. destination

It's a crowded world after all - at least in Orlando's hotels and theme parks. Tourism officials announced Monday that the number of visitors coming to Orlando last year jumped 5.5 percent to more than 66 million visitors. More from the AP and the Orlando Sentinel.
