World markets rebounding as China stocks dive

China’s authorities appeared powerless to prevent a further slide in the country’s ailing stock market Tuesday, as the country’s main share index plunged for a fourth straight day, although many other markets showed signs of recovering. More from the Washington Post and CNN Money.

Gas prices expected to fall through year's end

Gasoline prices continue to fall, and the trend could continue through the rest of the year, travel club AAA said Monday. Across Florida, the average price of regular gas fell by 4 cents per gallon last week. The price was down 22 cents from a month ago and 96 cents from a year ago, AAA said. On the same day that Tropical Storm Danny degenerated into a remnant low, another tropical storm has formed in the Atlantic Ocean. Tropical Storm Erika formed in the mid-Atlantic late Monday night and was forecast to become a Category 1 hurricane, possibly by the weekend.

Miami earns average ratings for its business friendliness but gets a poor grade for the ease of starting a small business, according to Thumbtack’s annual Small Business Friendliness Survey.

› SBA lending up 52% in South Florida
South Florida saw a greater increase in small business lending than across the entire Southeast, according to data released by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
