Private sector adds jobs in February, but growth slows

Private employers hired 212,000 workers in February, adding more muscle to the frame of a growing U.S. labor force. Payroll processor ADP's survey released Wednesday morning showed the seasonally adjusted number of new positions added in February. More at USA Today and Reuters.


AutoNation reports best February sales since 2004

AutoNation recorded its best February for sales of new vehicles since 2004. The auto chain from Fort Lauderdale said Wednesday that it sold 23,780 new vehicles during February, up 8 percent from a year earlier. More at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Miami Executive Airport designated ‘drone hub’

Miami-Dade County wants to get into the drone business. County commissioners on Tuesday unanimously voted to designate the Tamiami airport a “Drone and Robotic Hub” in order to attract businesses and non-profits focused on the unmanned aircraft. Florida Supreme Court takes up challenge to new districts

The high court will hear arguments Wednesday in a long-running legal battle over whether the Florida Legislature followed voter-approved standards for drawing the boundaries for the state's 27 congressional seats. More at WESH.
