Growing Collection

Diane Sears | 10/1/2007

The Resort at Singer Island, a new addition to Starwood’s Luxury Collection that opened in April, is gearing up for its first high season just north of Palm Beach.

Suites at The Resort at Singer Island north of Palm Beach start at 800 square feet and have views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic.

Sea-themed spa

The 21-story condo/hotel has 239 suites with one or two bedrooms as well as 66 residences. Designer Hirsch Bedner & Associates bucked the trend of a formal Palm Beach look for the $210-million project, instead opting for a contemporary luxury feel, says Sherry Serio, the resort’s director of sales and marketing.

Each suite has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and European wood cabinets in the kitchen; marble bathrooms; a washer and dryer; Bose DVD/CD electronics and flat-screen TVs; and housekeeping service
twice a day.

The resort has a sea-themed spa with eight treatment rooms, as well as a fitness center, a business center and about 4,000 square feet of meeting space.

The resort is one of more than 50 hotels worldwide carrying the Luxury Collection brand. Operator Starwood also owns St. Regis, Sheraton, Westin and W hotels.

One-bedroom suites start at $239 in the summer and $499 in December. Two-bedroom units start at $449 off-season and $709 in the winter.
