Tallahassee Wins Information Technology Awards

Tallahassee initiatives claimed two wins in the 2008 ITFlorida awards. The city’s Digital Harmony Project was recognized for Excellence in Bridging the Digital Divide; the pilot program supplies home computers and free internet access for students in an at-risk middle school. Allen Byington, CEO of Electronet and executive director of Big Bend Healthcare, won for Excellence in Information Technology Leadership, Northwest, for providing leadership in adoption of electronic health records by hospitals and physician networks and for launching BigBendHealth.com, helping patients access health records.
