Study: Visitors Have Favorable Impressions of Jacksonville

Visit Jacksonville conducted its first study of overnight visitors to the city and found that 2.8 million people spent the night in the River City in 2008, generating $1.6 billion. The study, by Tampa-based Research Data Services, also found:

  • The average visitor is 48 years old.
  • Median annual income household income of visitors is nearly $107,800.
  • The largest group of visitors is families, at 34%.
  • The majority of visitors are from the southeastern U.S. outside Florida.
  • Visitors have a 91% satisfaction rate and say they particularly like the friendliness of residents, level of service and value.
