» Noelia Moreno, vice president and owner of Moralmar Cabinets, was named the first female president of the Latin Builders Association.
» Physician Eduardo C. Alfonso became chairman of the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He remains medical director of the center’s ocular microbiology laboratory. Alfonso replaces Carmen Puliafito, who left Bascom Palmer to become dean of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.
» Royal Caribbean Cruises named Larry Pimentel to the newly created position of president and CEO of its Azamara Cruises unit. He had been president, CEO and co-owner of Seadream Yacht Club.
» Joseph A. Tadeo became CEO of Atlas Paper Mills; he had been senior vice president and general manager of Jarden Consumer Solutions.
