› Cross-Bay Ferry, linking St. Petersburg and Tampa, launches mid-week discounts
Those looking to cross Tampa Bay mid-week aboard the seasonal Cross-Bay Ferry can now do so for less: Riders travelling on Wednesdays and Thursdays during January and February can buy one ticket and get another free. Children aged 12 and under will also travel for free with an adult on Wednesdays and Thursdays this month and next, the service, which links the downtowns of Tampa and St. Petersburg, announced Monday morning.

› National Data Privacy Week: Florida AG Moody offers tips to protect against identity theft
This week is National Data Privacy Week and Attorney General Ashley Moody is reminding Floridians to secure their personal information online. According to reports, data breaches exposed approximately 22 billion records worldwide in 2022. “As hackers and other cybercriminals find new ways to expose and steal personal information, it is important to take proactive steps to guard against their schemes. In recognition of National Data Privacy Week, I’m offering tips to help Floridians become more secure and avoid falling prey to online criminals,” Moody said.

› Desiree Montes takes new Orlando Fringe leadership role
Orlando Fringe has created a new hybrid leadership position as its staff grows in response to the addition of Fringe ArtSpace, which opened this month. Desiree Montes will be the new artistic and marketing director for the organization, Orlando Fringe announced Monday morning. Fringe ArtSpace, located at 54 W. Church St. downtown, will offer consistent, year-round shows and educational initiatives, significantly boosting the Orlando Fringe staff’s workload beyond the yearly May festival in Loch Haven Park and a smaller annual winter fest that just wrapped up last weekend.

› Northeast Florida Home Affordability Index falls by almost 35% in 2022
Watching the monthly fluctuation of the median price of single-family homes may be telling for the real estate market. When the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors compiles monthly sales data it also includes the Home Affordability Index. NEFAR measures monthly home sales statistics for the Northeast Florida market comprising Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties.
