Nearly 3.6 Million Ballots Cast
With the daily total increasing by more than 277,000 ballots, nearly 3.6 million people had voted as of Thursday morning in next week’s general election.
Data posted online by the Florida Division of Elections showed that 3,581,580 ballots had been cast by mail or at early voting sites, up from 3,304,040 in a Wednesday count.
Buoyed by a large advantage in ballots cast at early voting sites, Republicans continued to outpace Democrats.
In all, 1,556,259 registered Republicans had voted, while 1,339,957 Democrats had cast ballots.
Meanwhile, 636,085 unaffiliated voters and 49,279 third-party voters had cast ballots.
All counties are required to offer early voting through Saturday, with 18 extending early voting to Sunday.
Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
