› State, contractor sued over DeSantis migrant flight records
An open-government group has filed a lawsuit against the Florida Department of Transportation and a state contractor, alleging they did not comply with public-records requests stemming from controversial flights of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. The Florida Center for Government Accountability filed the lawsuit Saturday in Leon County circuit court. The non-profit group also filed a separate lawsuit last week against Gov. Ron DeSantis and the governor’s office seeking to force the release of records.

An iconic sign in Fort Myers on the corner of McGregor Boulevard and South Grove Avenue, about 10 minutes from downtown, was still standing after Hurricane Ian tore through the area earlier late last month.
› Build-out approved for Olympus Insurance headquarters
Jacksonville approved a permit Oct. 14 for Dav-Lin Interior Contractors to build-out space for Olympus Insurance at the Prominence Office Park at a construction cost of $728,613. Dav-Lin will build-out 16,421 square feet of space at 8375 Dix Ellis Trail. The space is on the third floor of Prominence 600. Connie Turner Interiors Inc. is the space designer and planner.
› Senior living firm, approaching $500M in revenue, picks up private equity investment
Funds connected to a New York private equity firm are investing in Bonita Springs-based Discovery Senior Living in a recapitalization of the $455 million company. The private equity firm, Lee Equity Partners, was joined by Coastwood Senior Housing Partners in the investment in Discovery, according to a statement. Financial terms of the investment weren’t disclosed. Coastwood Chairman Dan Decker will chair the Discovery Senior Living board upon closing, the release adds.
