› Mecum Kissimmee car auction breaks record with $217 million in sales
As new and used cars continue to fetch high prices, Mecum Kissimmee has proved collector cars match the trend as the auction tallied $217 million in sales over the course of 11 days. Mecum Auctions’ Central Florida event saw record-breaking total sales, claiming the highest total achieved by a single collector car auction. In addition, each of the 11 days at Osceola Heritage Park broke single-day auction records for the Kissimmee event.

› A Jacksonville landmark for 36 years, Morocco Shrine Center poised to make way for apartments
Demolition could begin in about a month or two to clear the way for an estimated $200 million-plus redevelopment project at the former Morocco Shrine Center near St. Johns Town Center. Village at Town Center will offer "high-end luxury residential, student housing, commercial, office, hospitality, and outdoor recreational space," according to developers The Klotz Group of Companies and the KABR Group.

› Clearwater among Tripadvisor’s top trending destinations for 2022
Tripadvisor has released its annual list of top trending destinations in the US, and one of the best places to visit is right here in Tampa Bay. Although Hawaii took the top spot this year, three cities in Florida were able to make the cut, ranking in the top 10. Clearwater ranked No. 6, Fort Myers Beach was No. 5 and nearby Naples ranked No. 9.

› Undergrounding utilities in Coral Gables might be less pricy
Coral Gables commissioners were updated last week on the action plan for a citywide undergrounding of utilities and told that the project might not require a bond issue that had been contemplated. Stantec, the city’s consultant heading the project, presented an update on where undergrounding of electric and communications utilities throughout Coral Gables stands now.
