› LPGA's third Florida event gets name, date and, reportedly, a home
he LPGA’s Florida Swing is almost finalized. When the circuit’s 2022 schedule was unveiled last month, there was a TBD slot early in the calendar, following back-to-back Florida events, in Orlando and Boca Raton. Now, the tournament has a name and competition dates.

› USF launches project to map shallow sea floors in Tampa Bay and Gulf of Mexico
Marine scientists at the University of South Florida are using a new uncrewed vessel to map the complex seafloors in key areas around Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. USF partnered with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration last year and was awarded $9 million to launch the Center for Oceanic Mapping and Innovative Technologies, known as COMIT.

› LIFT JAX Inc. seeks city grant for Eastside grocery store
LIFT JAX Inc. is seeking a $650,000 city food desert grant as part of a plan to transform the former Debs Store in Eastside into a nonprofit grocery and job training center. LIFT JAX , Goodwill Inc. and VyStar Credit Union are partners in the proposed $2.4 million project at 1478 Florida Ave., according to a memo and project summary from the city Office of Economic Development.

› Regulators to step up monitoring of Tampa lead factory
A Tampa lead factory will face increased government scrutiny after a Tampa Bay Times investigation found it took steps to limit pollution when it knew environmental regulators were watching. Regulators are now doubling the number of air samples they take around Gopher Resource’s lead smelter and testing on a new, randomized schedule, the Hillsborough County Environmental Protection Commission told the Times this week.
