Tampa Tiger Bay Club honors former state senators John Grant, Arthenia Joyner for lifetime achievement
The Tampa Tiger Bay Club will hold its Fifth Annual Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner at 6 p.m., Monday, June 21 at the Cuban Club Ballroom in Ybor City. Tickets are $60 and the event is open to the public.
This year’s honorees are former state senators John Grant, Republican, and Arthenia Joyner, Democrat. Although political opposites, the two senators found common ground on issues such as education. Before the Senate, both served in the Florida House of Representatives.

The Tampa Tiger Bay Club is a non-partisan political group that presents lively discussions on important issues and candidates running for office. Each year it presents lifetime achievement awards to a Democrat and a Republican.
Previous recipients of the awards include former Florida Gov. Bob Martinez, former Florida House Speaker Terrell Sessums, former U.S. Rep. Mike Bilirakis and former Florida Education Commissioner Betty Castor.
