› $3 million Fairbanks property deal remains in limbo as Winter Park commissioners table decision again
For the second time in two weeks, Winter Park commissioners postponed a decision on a $3 million deal for a West Fairbanks Avenue property the city has been chasing to alleviate traffic. Commissioners remained divided on Wednesday over whether it makes sense to buy an acre of land, near South Denning Drive, from Fairbanks Village LLC that includes popular businesses such as Austin’s Coffee and Vines & Forks restaurant.

› Gate Hospitality holding job fair to fill almost 100 openings
Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, The Lodge & Club, The River Club and Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club scheduled a hiring fair to fill at least 97 hospitality positions. The event is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 15 at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club Conference Center at 200 Ponte Vedra Blvd. in Ponte Vedra. Jacksonville-based Gate Hospitality is the parent company of the resorts and clubs.

› Gables moves to sell $3.5 million city parking lot. The buyer is the vice mayor’s boss
The Coral Gables City Commission voted Tuesday to move forward with a plan to sell a public parking lot for $3.5 million to a developer that would join the property with two adjacent lots for a new project. But a wrinkle came up during the meeting: The partners behind the listed buyer — Delaware-registered JRFQ Holdings, LLC. — also own the MSP Recovery Law Firm where Vice Mayor Michael Mena has been employed since July 2019.

› Jacksonville City Council cuts $132 million from Skyway project on gas tax list
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority's request to use $379 million from a proposed gas tax increase for the Skyway took a $132 million hit when City Council members voted Wednesday to reduce it by that amount. JTA did not fight the amendment by City Council member Ron Salem and council passed it on a 16-2 vote.
