› Localtopia brings together St. Petersburg businesses for 8th year
On a cool Saturday morning, Saint Pete Yard Cards owner Katie Mallah sanitized the superhero cutouts in front of her tent in Williams Park. A DJ pumped salsa music in the distance and bubbles flew from a machine in her tent. Mallah was one of nearly 200 vendors and community organizations to participate in the 8th Localtopia, an annual festival supporting community artists, restaurants and stores organized by Keep Saint Petersburg Local.

You never want to be caught in a run-down in baseball. How about a wipe-down? The Miami Marlins announced Friday they are partnering with Lysol as they work to keep Marlins Park free of COVID. They’re the first Major League Baseball club to team up with the disinfectant specialists.

› Florida Theatre: Learning about the venue's past, present and future
More than 80 members of JAX Chamber’s Downtown Council and guests met virtually Feb. 19 to learn about the past, present and future of Jacksonville’s most historic entertainment venue. The Zoom presentation was provided by Numa Saisselin, president of the Florida Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. The nonprofit has managed and programmed the theater since 1987, when the city bought the building, 60 years after it opened at Forsyth and Newnan streets.

A new boutique golf shop, Senna Made Clubhouse, just opened on Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Boulevard, offering sculptural, one-of-a-kind head covers, gloves, gear and apparel with a modern, youthful flair. But beyond the game, golf is about having a story to tell while you’re shooting the shinola with pals between strokes.
