› Tampa couple back in business after customers help replace stolen pizza truck
Maybe 2021 will be better after all. Dora Botero and her boyfriend Mirco Falcone had to shut down the pizza truck they had sunk their life savings into because of the coronavirus. It nearly ruined them, but after three months they reopened in July and started building back business. Then in November, someone in a pickup hitched up “Pizzeataly” and drove off with it. Loyal customers have raised $11,398 through GoFundMe, enough to finance the purchase of a replacement for their trademark red food truck with its special brick oven.
› Coconut Grove marina sold to new owners, who are bringing back its original name
Prime Marina Miami, the 114-slip in Coconut Grove at 2550 South Bayshore Dr. adjacent to Monty’s Raw Bar and Restaurant and Miami’s City Hall, has been sold for an undisclosed amount. Suntex Marina Investors, a Dallas-based company that already owns marinas in Georgia, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia, bought the property’s recently-renewed 70-year lease and will bring back its original name, Bayshore Landing.

Something crazy happened last week. “The little guy won,” said Winter Park resident David Stephenson, and founder of Monster Trading Systems. After last week’s explosive Wall Street news surrounding GameStop stock, the market opened up to smalltime investment groups and individual investors in ways never seen before, said the 54-year-old Stephenson. And that change isn’t just happening online. It’s happening in Orlando, too.
› Construction firm begins work on major highway project
Pre-construction firm EHC has started 2021 with a pair of high-profile projects. One is a diverging diamond interchange being built at the Colonial Boulevard exit of Interstate 75. Contractor AJAX awarded EHC the project, according to a statement. Other improvements along Colonial Boulevard include a Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at the intersection of Six Mile Cypress Parkway/Ortiz Avenue and a superstreet intersection at the Colonial Boulevard/Forum Boulevard intersection.
