› Shark-free COVID-19 vaccine petition makes waves, gains more online support
An online movement to save sharks from becoming the next victims of the COVID-19 pandemic is growing in support. Earlier in September, a Los Angeles-based, shark-protection group, Shark Allies, made a post on Facebook and created a petition on Change.org regarding the dangers shark populations face as countries around the world race to find a COVID-19 vaccine.

› Jacksonville, Shad Khan to unveil latest Lot J development plans
Jacksonville City Hall and Jaguars owner Shad Khan have reached an agreement to develop Lot J that will be unveiled during a news conference at noon Monday. The announcement comes more than a year after Mayor Lenny Curry said the city and Khan had reached terms to develop Lot J.

› Spotlight on the Latest Florida Ag Hall of Fame Inductees
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried has announced the Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame inductees for 2021. The induction ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Florida State Fair’s Agricultural Hall of Fame Banquet on Feb. 16, 2021. The four individuals selected by the organization are being recognized for achievements and the global impact each has had on the industry and fair-trade practices, Fried noted.

› Here are the Orlando Regal movie theaters closing as part of U.S. shutdown
Regal Cinemas is temporarily shutting down its movie theaters nationwide on Thursday because of a lack of new films being released during the coronavirus pandemic. The chain has Central Florida theaters in Pointe Orlando, Winter Park Village, Waterford Lakes, Oviedo Mall, Kissimmee, Apopka, Port Orange and Ormond Beach. In all, it has 536 locations in the U.S.
