› Dry Lake O may have pushed endangered bird into new territory
The sighting of a stubby-legged nomad with a beak full of thatch has mobilized a cadre of scientists, elated Palm Beach County environmental managers, and shuttered a scenic canoe trail for at least two months. Endangered snail kites – crook-beaked raptors native to the Everglades – have found their way to the Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area, triggering a flurry of research and precautions, including closing the newly debuted paddle trail for fear traffic on the path would unsettle the sensitive bird.
› Technology distributor names new president of Americas region
Tech Data has promoted John O’Shea, a nearly 20-year veteran of the Clearwater technology distribution firm, to president of the Americas. O’Shea, according to a press release, previously served as head of Tech Data’s global lifecycle management division. He succeeds Joe Quaglia, who retired. O’Shea’s career also includes a stint as president of Vology, another Tampa Bay area tech firm.

› Wahlberg brothers bringing Wahlburgers to Key West
If you think you see Mark Wahlberg, or his boy-bander-brother Donnie, on Front Street in Key West later this summer, it might not be a heat hallucination. That’s because the Wahlberg family is opening one of their Wahlburgers restaurants on the boardwalk of Key West Historic Seaport.
