Craft Beer Bar Launches Business Amid Pandemic, Supports Local Breweries

| 6/25/2020

Tampa, FL, June 24, 2020 — A new craft beer bar launched its business last week in the middle of the current pandemic. Owned by a husband and wife, their aim is to provide great beer for the people of Tampa with a focus on supporting local breweries by carrying several local brews.

When Riley and Manny Franco made the decision to start a business in the middle of a pandemic, they knew it wouldn’t be easy. “We thought about it a lot. The opportunity presented itself, and we were eager to share good beer with good people, but understandably, we were apprehensive,” says Manny. “In the end, our love of craft beer and the people who brew it, and our passion for sharing that beer with others made the choice to open an obvious one.”

“We wanted to make a unique and inviting space where people feel comfortable exploring craft beer, especially with so many amazing local brews,” Riley adds. “So we set out to make a space that alludes to a sort of classic house party.” Blue Lizard Beer Lounge offers comfortable seating, popular bar games like giant jenga and foosball, and an antique dining room table set and ready for beer pong tournaments.

Supporting the community is an important part of the couple’s business model, so Blue Lizard is also offering a “Hero Happy Hour”, honoring happy hour pricing all day, everyday to any medical professionals and first responders who come into the establishment in their uniforms.

Worth noting is that Blue Lizard is committed to providing a safe environment for their customers. They have implemented sanitizing stations for customers, beertenders rigorously clean throughout the night, and they have even filled the cups on their in-house beer pong table with sanitizer. Blue Lizard Beer Lounge is temporarily operating under limited hours from 6pm-1am nightly and is excited to pour your next beer.
