› Five Brevard tax collector's offices reopen to public; Viera office remains closed
Five of the six Brevard County's tax collector offices reopened to the public on Monday — but with limited services. The Viera tax collector's office remains closed to the public. Tax Collector Lisa Cullen, however, is encouraging customers to continue to do their transactions online when possible, rather than in person. Online services are available at www.brevardtc.com. There is no convenience fee when using an e-check online.

› Apartment dwellers see slowing rent hikes in Southwest Florida
Apartment rents rose a scant 0.7% over the year in Sarasota, but as usual the city remains less affordable for renters than many other places. Rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Sarasota averaged $1,408 last month, $181 higher than the Florida average and $212 more than nationwide, according to online marketplace Apartment List.

› Gulfport Gabber will be back with a likely new owner
Gulfport’s Gabber will return to publishing community news on its website, from City Hall meetings to missing goats, possibly as soon as this week. Before pausing operations in March, the free newspaper founded in 1968 circulated around 10,000 copies each Thursday via street boxes and stacks placed on restaurant counters. Then came the coronavirus and the collapse of the paper’s advertising business.

› Florida Keys slowly get back to business as restaurant dining rooms reopen
Florida Keys locals are already showing they’re eager to sit down and eat at a restaurant again. The Keys had a limited opening on Monday, with businesses accepting customers at 25 percent capacity and under social distancing rules. Monroe County’s reopening mirrors the rest of Florida, with the exception of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, which is exempted from this first round.
