› Miami Dolphins win NFL’s community service award
The Miami Dolphins spent more time and effort impacting their local community than any other team in the NFL in 2019. The Dolphins won the NFL’s Huddle for 100 competition, the league announced Thursday, as Miami led the way in the league’s effort to promote volunteerism and meaningful contributions throughout the country.

Customers felt as comfortable as an old shoe at Robert Dunston’s cluttered shop, where they could always count on a cheerful greeting to go with quality service. The 86-year-old practiced a trade he learned as a child: reviving worn-out footwear. But he quietly stitched up his last boot recently at Dunston’s Shoe Hospital, capping an extraordinary 67-year run at his downtown shop to care for his wife.
› Uber launches new booking by phone feature for Florida riders
Uber announced Thursday a phone-booking feature that lets people in Florida request a ride without using the app. After dialing 1-833-USE-UBER (1-833-873-8237), a rider is paired with a live Uber representative that confirms the trip request, provides an upfront price quote and uses the technology using the Uber app to help find a ride.
› Florida grower appreciates networking opportunities
For one Florida grower, the timing of the upcoming Southern Exposure show is proving to be quite opportune. Florida Classic Growers, based in Dundee, Fl., will have on display at the show (running Feb. 27-29 in Tampa, Fl.), its Florida blueberries, citrus and peaches. All three of these commodities are grown in the central part of the state.
