Lawmakers want to bring film back to Florida

Film production companies could receive cash rebates for filming in Florida if new legislation making its way through the state legislature is signed into law. It would be the first film incentive the state has offered in almost a decade. Florida was once a prime contender for major motion pictures. More from WCTV and WJHG.

Disney, Brightline confirm advanced talks over theme-park station

Some are saying Florida Power and Light has crossed the line, and the public really doesn't know who they are doing business with. A group of small business owners have now banded together, claiming they can't compete with what the power giant, which is a monopoly, is doing.  After years of delays, the country’s largest shopping center finally has a birth date. The Canadian development firm Triple Five Worldwide plans to start construction of American Dream Miami in late 2021, according to Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, who is an attorney at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr and represents Triple Five Worldwide.

floridaGoldman Sachs has invested $75 million in CallMiner, a Fort Myers technology firm that provides Artificial Intelligence-fueled speech and customer interaction analytics. The funds from the giant New York-based investment bank, according to a statement, will be used to accelerate the company’s go-to-market strategy and expand Eureka, its analytics platform.
