› Old Florida hunt club to become housing development
The land where the rich and famous once came to hobnob and hunt will become housing. The seven-acre site at 5307 and 5309 Hood Road in Palm Beach Gardens that was the original site of the Bonnette Hunt Club will begin construction in April.
› Safest cities in Florida: Did yours make the list?
A recent study by SafeWise lists Niceville in its 50 Safest Cities in Florida for 2019. Niceville placed 14th and Fort Walton Beach missed the mark, placing 71st in the list. SafeWise ranked the safest cities based on the number of reported violent crimes such as aggravated assault, murder, rape and robbery.
› Miami company owes workers over $60,000 in back pay after violating OT rules
Miami commercial laundry company Crown Linen will pay 20 workers $60,863 in owed wages to wash out the classification errors that shorted worker pay. That’s according to the Department of Labor, which said the violations happened out of Crown’s Orlando plant.
