- 3,657 — Total number of jobs in Florida certified by the Department of Labor in 2017 as meeting the government test for workers with a set of skills for which Florida employers couldn’t find a qualified U.S. worker.
- $9/hour - $350,000/year — Wages ranged from just under $9 an hour for a cook at an Indian restaurant in Orlando to $350,000 a year for a doctor at a Fort Myers cancer treatment firm.

Employers who seek certification from the U.S. Department of Labor to hire foreign-born workers and get them a permanent U.S. visa to move here include some of Florida’s largest employers — and some of its smallest. Examples of jobs for which employers sought certification in 2018:
