With one week to go, Florida race tightens for Clinton and Trump

New numbers reported Tuesday to the state Division of Elections show nearly 32 percent of all registered voters in Florida have either voted early or voted by mail. With Republicans maintaining a slight edge, the tight battle is compelling both presidential candidates to make repeated swings through the Sunshine State. More from the AP and the Times/Herald.

FPL's Fibernet to be acquired as part of $1.5 billion deal

Power producer NextEra Energy Inc said it would sell its fiber-optic telecommunications business to Crown Castle International Corp for $1.5 billion in cash. Florida awards Harris $700 million communications contract

Harris Corp. has entered into a $700 million contract with Florida to provide a state-wide communications network that will connect public safety, law enforcement, public schools and other state and local government agencies. MyFloridaNet-2 will link more than 4,000 sites and provide 4,700 connections via a secure state-wide communications infrastructure Harris technology from its primary network operations center in Melbourne.
