Florida's explosive population growth driving economy

Cushman & Wakefield announced today that it released their inaugural Florida Population Report, an examination of population trends and its economic impact throughout the state of Florida. The report depicts a thriving economy in Florida driven by explosive population growth and high consumer confidence. Sprouts Farmers Market confirms Florida expansion

Sprouts Farmers Market has finally confirmed its plans to expand in the Sunshine State. The Phoenix-based grocer (Nasdaq: SFM) in a regulatory filing Tuesday listed Florida as a "mid-term expansion market," along with Carolinas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. Plantation seeks incentives extension for company thought to be Magic Leap

The city of Plantation is seeking to extend by a year a $9 million incentives package for a company thought to be virtual reality developer Magic Leap. Revisions, to be considered at a City Council meeting on Wednesday, would move the timetable for job creation forward a year. More from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Prominent Miami lawyer to assume national leadership post

A prominent Miami attorney is going to become president of the American Bar Association. Hilarie Bass, co-president of the law firm Greenberg Traurig, on Tuesday became president-elect of the national organization that represents the legal profession. More from the AP.

Tampa flights among at least 90 canceled by Delta on Wednesday

Delta Air Lines expects some 90 more flight cancellations globally before operations return to normal later in the day. The airline has had to cancel over 1,700 flights since Monday, when a power outage at its base in Atlanta affected its global computer systems. The spirited growth of Florida distilleries

spirited away There are now 41 licensed distillers in Florida, up from just nine five years ago, according to the state Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco. The number of gallons sold has grown more than seven-fold to 19,174 since 2009.
