Americans are spending most since 2009

U.S. consumer spending recorded its biggest increase in more than six years in April and inflation rose steadily, more signs of an acceleration in economic growth that could persuade the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates again as early as June. Florida to get $5 million from failed visual effects studio

Florida is going to recoup $5 million out of $20 million the state invested in a failed visual effects film studio. State and local governments have reached a settlement in a complicated legal battle that involved filings in bankruptcy court as a well as a civil lawsuit filed in St. Lucie County.
