Updated: Obama, Castro share stage at summit
Story update: U.S. President Barack Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro met in Panama City, Panama, Saturday in the first face-to-face discussion between the leaders of the two countries in a half-century. Obama and Castro spent time during their hourlong meeting at the Summit of the Americas reflecting on the significance of the moment for Cubans, Americans and the entire region. Officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Thursday that Florida is expected to produce 102 million boxes of oranges this growing season, unchanged from last month. The grapefruit forecast dropped from 15 million boxes to 13 million boxes. More at the AP.
With new company, some Miami hotels let you stay for the day
When spending the night at a hotel is just not necessary, a new company is offering another option for travelers: the day stay. HotelsByDay, a website and app that launched in February, lists a handful of South Florida properties. More at the Miami Herald.
MegaCon set to bring mega crowds to Orlando this weekend
