» Wells Fargo named Frank Newman regional president for community banking for south Florida, a newly formed region that includes Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Newman had been the bank's regional president for the Palm Beach and Treasure Coast region.

» Juan M. Ortiz, Navarro Discount Pharmacy's CFO, was promoted to CEO, replacing Steve Kaczynski, who will become a consultant.

» Accenture promoted Jorge Benitez to chief U.S. executive and managing director for North America. He is based in Miami, where he had been location managing director and COO for the products operating group.

» Emilio Alonso-Mendoza has been appointed president/CEO of the non-profit Take Stock in Children. He had been president of the Archdiocese of Miami Development Corp. and the Catholic Community Foundation in the Archdiocese of Miami.
