Resort Features: Originally built in 1936-38 as the Dempsey Vanderbilt Hotel. Rooms start at $900 a night. "As soon as you get into the lobby, you kind of stop because the lighting is fairly low, and you're surrounded by stone and very rich woodwork. The design is clean and slick. It's a modern architectural rendition with Asian flavors," Pergant says.
