?? Frank Burnside, former head of Citibank's U.S. private bank, and Lewis M. Goodkin, a real estate consultant and contributor to Florida Trend, were named to the board of First Southern Bancorp in Boca Raton.

? Carolina Rivera was named commercial vice president of Grupo de Diarios America, a Miami-based consortium of Latin American newspapers. She was previously a sales manager at Latin Trade magazine.

? George M. Hare was tapped as CFO at Devcon International in Deerfield Beach. He previously was chief operating officer and CFO of Directions in Marketing.

? William H. Sned Jr., president of Sned & Tuck, was named to the board of Fidelity Bankshares in West Palm Beach, expanding the board to seven members.
