Retired Vice Adm. Jack Fetterman, a Pensacola civic leader, former chief of the Naval Education and Training Command and former CEO of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation, died March 24. Fetterman was known as "the father of Navy ethics'' for initiating a core values program following the 1990s Tailhook scandal. He served on Florida's Governor's Advisory Council for the Base Realignment and Closure Commission.
Fetterman recently spearheaded a $40-million expansion of the Naval Aviation Museum targeted for 2008 and to include a National Flight Academy. He initiated and was leading a drive to build a Maritime Museum on Pensacola's waterfront.
