Miami-based CMA Cos. has announced plans for an $850-million luxury condominium and resort near the convention center called The Blue Rose, which is expected to be the tallest residential structure in central Florida when it opens in phases beginning in late 2008.

At 39 stories, with more than 1,300 units, the resort will include a 1,000-seat Broadway-quality theater, five international restaurants, a day spa, 75,000 square feet of meeting space, rooftop pools, boutique shops and a lake with exotic birds. Prices start in the low $300,000s.
