? U.S. Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne has appointed south Florida real estate developer Edward W. Easton to a six-year term on the board of the National Park Foundation. The foundation's key mission is to raise private money, make strategic grants, create innovative partnerships and increase public awareness about America's national parks. Easton was also nominated by President Bush to be on the board of trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

? David Feder was named president and general manager of Fontainebleau Resort, overseeing the landmark Miami Beach hotel's $400-million renovation and expansion.

? Cingular Wireless has promoted Jeff Cannon to director of business operations for its south Florida market from Key West to Vero Beach.

? Germaine Smith Baugh has been named president and CEO of the Urban League of Broward County. She joined the non-profi t organization as a program coordinator in 1996.

A crowd cheered and took photos as two loggerhead sea turtles slowly made their way through the sand and into the Atlantic Ocean. Monday's turtle release marked the end of their rehabilitation at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida.
