› Brevard tourism grants go through with exception of Renaissance Fair, Cocoa Beach races
In the latest twist in how Brevard County spends tourism tax money, three long-running events that bring thousands of visitors to the Space Coast will no longer receive grants from the county. For at least two of the events, the fact that the organizer inadvertently offended Commissioner John Tobia apparently contributed to the commission turning down the grant requests.

The news that one of Sarasota County's largest private employers is being acquired has been met with excitement by trade partners and local business leaders, even as the headquarters of one of the region's brightest business stars will shift north to Tampa after the deal closes sometime in mid-2024.
› FPL to install electric vehicle charging stations in Port Canaveral's Cove District
Florida Power & Light Co. has reached an agreement with Port Canaveral to install electric vehicle charging stations in a parking lot at the port's Cove District restaurant area. Port commissioners unanimously approved the 10-year deal this month, and the six "Level 3" fast-charging stations are expected to go online within a year.
› Tampa Bay region wins nearly $40M in state funding for water pollution reduction projects
The projects, in Lee, Hillsborough and Polk counties, are funded through the state’s Water Quality Improvement Grant Program and are geared toward reducing harmful nutrients in Florida’s waterways, according to a statement. In total, the state awarded $210 million for 27 projects. The projects on the west coast of Florida total $39.5 million.
