› Jacksonville Aviation Authority board approves steel purchase for JIA expansion
The Jacksonville Aviation Authority board voted March 27 to ratify contracts with Balfour Beatty Construction LLC to purchase steel for a planned expansion at Jacksonville International Airport. The contracts comprise a $24.57 million steel package to build Concourse B and a $2.6 million contract for the third phase of security checkpoint renovations at the airport.

› GRU reduces fuel charge to save customers funds on electric bills
Users of Gainesville Regional Utilities will soon see some much-needed relief on their electric bills. GRU officials announced Monday that it would soon be reducing its electric fuel adjustment and purchased gas adjustment charges that will result in monthly savings for customers. Officials of the municipal-owned utility estimate residential customers who use the standard 1,000 kWh will save about $15 each month. Those who use 800 kWh will see about $12 a month in savings.

› A Brightline train station at MLB? Melbourne airport officials push for passenger facility
Melbourne Orlando International Airport leaders want Brightline to build a future passenger station off Apollo Boulevard, giving TUI's European tourists, domestic passengers and Brevard residents access to the private company's upcoming Orlando-to-Miami rail route. The airport owns 45 wooded acres surrounding both sides of the railroad tracks off Apollo Boulevard.

› Broadway’s Justin Sargent helps celebrate new Orlando cabaret space
A new cabaret space welcomes a face familiar to Central Floridians this week as Broadway vet Justin Matthew Sargent takes the stage. After renovating its Rocks lounge, the Hyatt Regency Orlando decided it was time to celebrate. The result? A new cabaret series titled “Broadway on the Rocks” and featuring Broadway performers.
