› DeSantis signs law stripping Disney World of Reedy Creek control
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law Monday that gives the state control of Disney World’s Reedy Creek Improvement District, stripping the resort of its self-governing powers amid a feud with the governor. “Today, the corporate kingdom finally comes to an end,” said DeSantis at Reedy Creek Fire Station No. 4 on Disney property where he signed the bill. “This is what accountability looks like.” The law, effective immediately, gives the governor the power to appoint all five members of the governing board of the district. Members would face Senate confirmation.

The Osceola County hotel market has been busy with investor attention breathing new life into properties. The county saw 16 properties with a combined total of 2,525 roomschange hands in 2022, according to CoStar Group Inc. (Nasdaq: CSGP) data provided to Orlando Business Journal. That's up 45% from 11 sales in 2021 and the most sales in a year since 2017 (tied with 16 transactions).

Kith, the progressive lifestyle brand from New York has arrived in the Miami Design District, and it has brought a couple of friends: Sadelle’s, the all-day restaurant from Major Food Group, and a standalone Kith Treats store. Created by Ronnie Fieg and opened in 2011 in Brooklyn, Kith now has 14 locations including SoHo, Beverly Hills, Aspen, Paris and Miami Beach (next to The Setai).

› World’s largest bounce house coming to Tampa fairgrounds
The Guinness World Records-certified “world’s largest bounce house” is set to inflate March 10-12 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. The Big Bounce America tour travels around the world and brings four massive inflatable attractions: a 16,000-square-foot World’s Largest Bounce House; the newly added Sport Slam, featuring a customized sports arena; an obstacle course more than 900 feet long named The Giant; and a space-themed wonderland called airSPACE.
