The Florida Department of Revenue has put out a detailed list of what back to school items can be purchased without paying sales taxes.

Orlando revealed a proposal to spend much of its $58 million in federal pandemic relief aid on homelessness and affordable housing Monday, outlining a plan that would create the city’s first daytime drop-in center for the unhoused.

Lakeland is hoping to gain some insight on what residents would like to see in the way of city parks and recreational opportunities. The city has launched a Recreation Community Interest Survey that will be open through the end of July.
› Osceola County proposes flat property tax rate
Officials signed off on a proposed rate of 6.7 mills, which means a property owner would pay $6.70 per $1,000 in taxable value. Property tax is the largest contributor to the county’s General Fund, which pays for everything from county staff salaries and benefits, to public safety costs, road repairs and other services.
