› Statewide job fairs attract big-name employers
Floridians looking for a job in construction and manufacturing, take note: CareerSource Florida is teaming up with some of the state’s largest employers for job fairs to be held across the state in the coming weeks.

› Florida home insurance company merges with affiliate
American Traditions Insurance Company (ATIC) has announced that it has merged with one of its affiliate companies. Both ATIC and affiliate Modern USA Insurance Company were launched under similar ownership shortly after the devastating hurricane season in 2005.

› UCF receives $2 million grant for Puerto Rico's Arecibo Observatory
The University of Central Florida has received a $2 million grant for repairs to the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, which was damaged during Hurricane Maria. A consortium led by UCF was tapped earlier this year to manage the observatory, the largest operational radio telescope in the world.

› Oldsmar’s Cryo-Cell buys Orlando cord blood bank for $14 million
Cryo-Cell International, the local company that was the first private cord bank to separate and store stem cells, has acquired a public cord blood bank company based in Orlando for $14 million.
