The latest data on rates of business growth in America by the Kauffman Foundation show improvement for South Florida, with the region climbing three spots on the index, to No. 36.

› ReliaQuest opens storefront in mock city of JA Biztown
ReliaQuest, a Tampa-based cybersecurity company, opened a "storefront" Wednesday at JA Biztown. The storefront is part of a mock city where students learn economic concepts and run businesses.

› US government: Inspections show Lake Okeechobee's dike sound
Federal officials are conducting daily inspections of the dike that surrounds Lake Okeechobee because of its near-record water levels but say it is not in danger of failing.
