The Florida State Fair has graced the Sunshine State since 1904, when it was first held in downtown Tampa at railroad magnate Henry B. Plant’s Tampa Bay Hotel. The event attracts around 500,000 attendees each year with 90-plus amusement rides, entertainment, classic fair foods and baking, crafting and agriculture competitions.
This year, the Florida State Fair — advertised as “America’s sunniest celebration” in honor of the country’s 250th birthday — will run from Feb. 5 to Feb. 16. It will take place at the Florida State Fairgrounds at 4800 U.S. 301 N in Tampa. The 330-acre venue also hosts the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center, the Agribusiness Department, the Cracker Country Living History Museum and the Florida Learning Garden.
Advance ticket prices range from $7.50 for children to $11.75 for adults. Attendees can buy armbands for unlimited rides starting at $26.75.
“Celebrating 250 years of America is something truly special, and we’re excited to mark the occasion with a fair that honors both our nation’s history and Florida’s unique roots,” says Florida State Fair CEO Cheryl Flood. “‘America’s Sunniest Celebration’ is more than just a theme — it’s a chance to bring people together, shine a light on our state’s rich agricultural traditions and create new memories with family and friends.”
