Brittney joined Florida Trend as an associate editor in April 2024. Previously, she was an award-winning energy and environment reporter and Report for America corps member at The Gazette, a daily newspaper in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born and raised in Central Florida, earning bachelor’s degrees in journalism and biology at the University of Florida and then a master’s degree in science journalism at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She specializes in deep dives on the environment, climate, agriculture and energy.
